About

when I was 12 years old seeing Paris, Texas from Wim Wenders, absolutely astonished me. The silence, the space and the emotions conveyed by the perfect coherence of lights, colours and composition.

It was the first time a work of art made me cry.

Tamás is a Transylvanian cinematographer based in London and after spending years in the industry is still a subject to the vampire jokes.

His works were screened and awarded nationally and internationally. After graduating from the London Film School he started working internationally from LA to Tel-Aviv. Summer Shade (d. Shira Haimovici) after premiering at London Film Festival, won the BSC Short Film Cinematography Competition 2020 and was in competition at Camerimage Film Festival. The same year Joanna Wang: I Only care about you (d. Robert Youngblood) was nominated for the Golden Melody Award for Best Music Video.

His commercial Can We Talk (d. Wukda) was nominated at Berlin Commercial 2022 and Ciclope 2022.

In 2023 he shot Scorched Earth (d. Markela Kontaratou) that premiered at the 76. Locarno International Film Festival.

Tamás was recently selected as one of Berlinale Talents 2024 and he is a member of the European Film Academy and Bafta Connect.
